At noon there is a cannon shot fired to mark the time. The ceremony dates back to the times when not many people had watches, and that would indicate noon for them.
We also took a sampan ride to visit a houseboat. The rooms were quite small, and it was difficult to imagine that at one time 10 people lived on the boat. Despite the somewhat primitive nature of the houseboat, they still had a television.
The houseboat was in stark contrast to the luxury mansions on the hills surrounding it. Homes on the Peak sell for millions of dollars.
We traveled to the top of the Peak in a tram and spent time taking pictures at the top. The vista was breathtaking. Hong Kong is a beautiful city.
After some shopping time in Victoria Market and dinner, we returned to the waterfront for a laser light show.
Tomorrow we'll be packing up and heading home!!
Welcome home... we missed you and can't to hear more about your adventurous travels.
