June 30 – Arriving in Hong Kong

We don't have much to report today. We spent the majority of the day in travel. The flight from Shanghai to Hong Kong is considered an international flight, so we had to be at the airport at least three hours before take-off. The flight lasted two hours, and we had to go through immigration.

The landing in Hong Kong was beautiful. It was a beautiful day with the sun shining: something we haven't see in a few days. The buildings and countryside were really stunning.

We were greeted by our Hong Kong guide, Christina, and we were off to the hotel. She informed us with far too much perkiness that the temperature was 100 degrees and humidity was between 85-90%. I could not live like this all the time. My clothing is never dry.

We went to dinner at a restaurant that apparently is popular for wedding receptions. There were some decorations still up, which Amy classified as looking like Joann Fabric threw up in the room. The food was good, though.

After dinner, we all went shopping in the ladies district and electronic district. It was like a huge flea market, with people everywhere. There are bright lights and it's filled with sounds and smells. It has a totally different feel from China. The delegates loved it. They had such fun, and did some more haggling with the merchants.

We realized when we landed today that the next time we land in a plane, we'll be back in the United States!!
